I can't bring myself to hate Yang, and I wonder how things could have gone if the circumstances were different.
I think Yang is ultimately a tragic character-an antivillain easily strung along by the strong around him as his ambition is too much and too easily preyed upon. If you notice, the advice Mo gives to him in this chapter ultimately is what costs her the life she has, and there's a certain irony that she teaches him to be independent, only for him to be manipulated from his ambition.
I ultimately hope he finds some redemption by the end of the story, in some sense, because I think just being killed like the less complicated characters is a disservice.
