Surprised they put fur on the cat girl. They didn't go all the way and make her like the men, which is even stranger. Mostly furry is an unbalanced look.

It's not about the currency. These guys don't have anything within leagues of the Bessemer or English crucible processes, and clothespins use spring steel to work. They're also mass produced in a world where everything seems to still be manufactured with an emphasis on manu-, so large quantities of finely-whittled wood with steel springs at a price ordinary urban households could afford would be totally unheard of. He could charge more than the equivalent of $7 and they'd still sell fairly well.

On the PR/N on page 38 about orange carrots: The current day orange carrot was bred by the Dutch at the end of the 17th and start of 18th century. The orange carrot was recorded in 512, but it wasn't stable enough of a variant to deliver consistently. So honestly. can you really call it recently if around 400 years have passed.

very human. do it first THEN regret it after lmao

he should just sell food/drinks so he don't need to think of selling new things every time

i wonder if the maid will be his ticket to be able to sell to nobles
also here's to hoping he bed the maid too lmao

for all my life, this is the first time i searched "medieval carrots" in google and see there there are many colors of carrots other than orange and yellow is fucking mind blowing.

That might not be correct. The video you linked is quite good. But there are a couple of things I'd like to point out - 1) that describes European ropemaking for long ropes used for shipping etc. The smaller ropes had a much simpler method.
2) Asia had a different method altogether to make ropes which again was similarly simpler.
3) this is at the end of the day an isekai with similar but not exact development. For example there is item box so we don't know what kind of other magical skills are there. Also the line for hanging clothes could have been a rope too. Same with the other merchant hanging their guild stones.

Still you might be correct. We'll only know if it is addressed in the story which is highly unlikely.

As you can see in the video, this same process was even used in ancient Egypt. And I guarantee you through trade that such knowledge and methods were spread into asia. And we do know that asia did use plant and other natural fibers. One of them being coir, which are fibers from coconuts. Which did historically grow in areas of China (like inHainan Island and parts of Guangdong province).

I mean, it wasn't monolithic. IIRC, the Mongols used horse hair for rope in some cases. But the process to make it into actual rope is going to be the same. It's roughly the same process today, only much more automated.

You are right in the point you are making here. Also the point wasn't that this method didn't spread to Asia but that Asia already had a different method to make ropes from much earlier. China started making hemp ropes in 2800 BC and that method also spread throughout Asia, Europe and other parts of the world. What I mean is that ropes have been around for thousands of years. This particular method is not the only one for making ropes. There are other methods too. Including easier ropemaking methods let alone ones for making smaller ropes. We don't know which methods exist in this world. There can even be something that hasn't existed in our world since this is an isekai/another world. Therefore the fact mc uses rope might not necessarily cause him problems. It is something we'll only know if the author bothers to address this point.
