Ok... I have a question... did Anna just pick up the takoyaki with the glasses on page 7? :pepehmm:

The hands and feet are sometimes very crudely drawn. The chopsticks are just collateral damage. A popular recent example is (warning: you can't unsee it): bottom right panel in chapter 156, page 10.

Edit: :questionblob: wait, that's not chopsticks, that's definitely her glasses, because she's holding them in the next panel on page 7:

maybe the weird ball on the end of her glasses is her mask falling to the side? The hat just kinda disappears after Yamada starts pulling it down on page 6.

Interesting to see the author is actually giving yamada some character flaws. I was worried for a bit, but this chapter really highlights her vanity. Since the author didn't end the series when they started dating (like so many others) I really want to see the couple grow past problems caused by both people. We've already seen Kou cause some drama. I'm glad Yamada causing drama is being seeded, especially since her characterization usually ends at dopey, hungry, and we'll meaning
It seems like Yamada doesn’t really like it when Ichikawa distances himself, focusing on his studies to prioritize his own goals, which reduces the time he spends with her. This feels unfair, especially considering how Yamada focuses on her work in the entertainment industry. I kind of like this dynamic, though, because it shows that Yamada isn’t perfect. That said, I still dislike her line of work and would prefer if she weren’t in the entertainment industry at all—but it is what it is. I can’t wait for the day when Yamada’s job no longer hinders their relationship.
Yamada saying "I don't care about reactions online..." on page 3 gave me pause. It reminded me of what Adachi was talking about in chapter 145. I wonder: does Yamada feel like this just in this instance when talking about this TV drama, or in general about all online reactions to her work and rumors about her?

It's not just Kyo-chan that's popular considering his sis got her very own knight in shining armor in her workplace.
I liked how the employee came to help kana if it had been a creep that grabbed her hand
Bro was ready to murder someone
Yeah Sota is very protective of Kana and helpful to her (the motorcycle ride to the MS comes to mind). He probably likes her and I hope Kana can catch onto that. She deserves some happy romance too.

EDIT: As another comment shortly below says, it doesn't look like the author intends for that (but it could be a misdirection).

Sota: “Kana, I am attracted to you romantically and wish to pursue a relationship with you”
Kana, probably: “Oh you need me to tell someone that?”

Sota appearing with his motorbike is actually an anime original addition to this scene. Kana made it on her own in the manga (chapter 84). But it's a great addition: it gives us another Jin–Kana interaction and it humorously highlights once again that he's younger that her (since he still remembers the route to the school).

He probably likes her and I hope Kana can catch onto that. She deserves some happy romance too.
As for the romance part, see the editor's note at the end of chapter 77 and Jin's profile in extra 140.6.

Imagine you’re just making takoyaki and a girl in a mask, beanie and sunglasses suddenly grabs the arm of one of the waiters.

He made it to second base didn't he 🤔 🧐
Okay I’m sure the first guy was being sarcastic so the question is if you’re playing off that sarcasm or if Textual Sarcasm Illegibility Syndrome strikes again and it didn’t come across

I agree with you, but at the same time we are almost told that Yamada is doing this to impress Ichikawa, that is why she asked him directly what his opinion was. I think Yamada will abandon the project if they ask her to kiss someone. I think Yamada loves Ichikawa much more than Ichikawa seems to understand and that is what the Japanese say this volume will be about.

After reading some reviews, I think something really cool would be for Yamada to write a song for Ichikawa with Onessan in the same way Ichikawa did in the past just before their first kiss.

Or how she was staking out the bookstore with her magazines in it hoping someone would recognize her and ask for an autograph.
Yes exactly! Yamada is a lot of things, humble is rarely one of them.

And it’s adorable.
On of the things I've loved about this from the start is how refreshingly teenage it is, in the sense that Yamada actually acts like a specifically 14-year-old girl, and their families are the families of teenagers, and Ichi has all the insecurities and delusions of a 14-year-old boy. And, it does it all without leaning into "serious" drama tropes. It stays firmly in teen romcom territory. Really admirable writing.

I agree. I also had this impression of Yamada feeling abandoned when Ichikawa is focused on his goals. But I think it's unfair because he supports her 100% in her work. He never complains, on the contrary, he always encourages her. Furthermore, he is focused on his studies, as he wants to become a guy worthy of pride for her. I think that in the end she won't abandon her job but Ichikawa will graduate in something corresponding and work alongside her, like a director or manager.

I think it’s fair to feel lonely even if it’s not “fair”. It’s okay for people to have different thresholds for loneliness, and it’s okay to be a bit needy for the one you love.
