I more interested in the idea of her career taking her away from Ichikawa then the purity thing. Constantly traveling and being long distance is rough. Missing important events is hard on a couple especially if they are heading to different highschools/colleges.

It's been there since volume 1, since Ichi saw her on a magazine and told himself "everything is pointless and stupid". BokuYaba was born from Norio thinking about what it would be like to date an idol, so this was gonna happen sooner or later.

I have always disliked Yamada’s work, and I’ll say it again. The entertainment industry has a very disgusting side, may it be here in the States or Japan. I hope she finds something else for herself, but even if she doesn't, I doubt this series would go down the very toxic side of this superficial industry.

It was interesting that she was participating in another school's maid cafe, there. Reminder, she was visiting Moeko's top choice for high school when she graduates middle school when that was going on and that photo was taken. So it's not even the school she was going to apply to and attend within the year.

Are we really at the point where the characters start saying “my final ___”? Ig we’re nearing the end.

I mean... it's been their last year of middle school since the end of Volume 7, start of Volume 8, after all. Everything that only happens once every school year is their "final middle school ___" since then. The sports festival (when Kyo and Adachi had their showdown that ultimately meant nothing, but let them talk shit out, man to man, and end up better friends than they ever were, enough that Adachi is now proud Kyo got Anna in the end), the school trip (when Kyo finally confessed his feelings to Anna and convinced her to chase her dreams like she always used to), and this culture festival. Far as I can gather, we should be within about 5-ish volumes from the end of their middle school days.

Watch it end up being not as massive as a hurdle as Kyo has made it out to be, and they could have talked to adults to work things out sooner... but they're 14/15 year olds, they're not necessarily going to think of the most sensible options to deal with these things, and certainly not immediately.

Not saying it definitely will go that way, just a possibility that it ends up not being nearly as daunting as the kids are making it out to be and the adults can help smooth things over.
