Most people bring snacks to school without ever knowing that it's prohibited. Teachers don't really give a damn quite often, too.

You guys have to understand some snacks are allergic to some students in the tracest amounts, and bringing in those snacks is considered "contaminating the premises". Banning outside snacks is a good way to avoid lawsuits.

That’s my favorite defense “My client is too stupid to be able to plan something of this caliber” obviously that’s not what’s happening here, but it has a similar vibe and I adore this joke

Actually, all snacks are allergic to most students, since students like to devour snacks. Total destruction is quite an allergic reaction. However, some students may be allergetic to select snacks as well, such as those containing nuts.

@Kaarme: Well, if someone dies because of eating too many snacks that someone else purposefully brought, maybe it'll be classified as a murder.

Okay that brought memories of seeing my teachers getting emotional in primary school because of what I/we achieved.

What, it's forbidden to bring food in school in Japan ?
What the hell ?

Well that being said, in school in France, they prohibit using cellphones, which isn't much cleverer either.
