1) That cat reminds me of Dog of Wisdom for some reason...That's a good wisdom...
2) I like the ending page notes, that's some good context that I wouldn't have gotten
3) CONSUME THE GIFT IN FRONT OF HER, MY SWEET APPRENTICE...!

Actually, there's some psychological stuff that goes against that. The more you hang out with people and get to know one another, the more likely you are to fall in love. It's the "Mere-Exposure" effect, as people tend to start to like something the more they interact with it. It's like the concept of acquired taste, but expanded to more interactions. Additionally, in terms of propinquity, or frequency of interactions, there is evidence to suggest the longer two people know one another or interact, plus the longer the courtship, the more successful the relationship tends to be.

This isn't to say there isn't issues when you know someone for a long time and introduce love or change the dynamics, or the risk of having someone else come in and "sweep them away" so to say, but it is a good general rule that the more two people interact, the more likely they are to mutually connect and fall in love. @N0Mi0

Page 4, 2nd panel, double-edged statement.
Page 6, cute and thirsty Yamada.
Thanks for the translation term notes! I was thinking a couple of appropriate English labels for Ichikawa would be 'outcast' or 'reject', since neither have any correlation to his academic or attendance achievements, but instead are purely social in connotation. For Yamada, there is a term, but it's more slang, called the 'it girl'; this is a girl who is very popular with both girls and guys, the latter especially, but who possesses certain qualities that make it hard for boys to approach her (they are typically intimidated by her beauty). An important detail is that the 'it girl' always has more womanly charm than her peers; thus, a lot of school girls want to be like her, and all boys want to get with her.

@calmbreez Without announcements, yes. Slowly...I wonder. I've been dropping these in many chapters, so someone binging will get sick of me, but this is what happens when you can't actively discuss (and are binging yourself XD).

Anyway, this girl has given him a ton of chocolate for Valentine's in an extra (outta nowhere). Screamed "Suki da" in front of the school (talking about chocomint, so kinda to tease him, but still outta nowhere). Then we went back to her being shy (wtf?).
Idk, man. "Slowly" doesn't fit there. One chapter she didn't care about him, next she received a drawing from him and became a bit interested, then 10 more chapters of 0 buildup and BAM, chocolate.

Isnt this a Major Flag? and its all in an Extra chapter. Feels wrong. Like I said before, we might even get a confession scene in an extra chapter.

Quite a few of the Twitter extra comics are out of continuity, often showing future events, like the Christmas special (chapter 19.3) or Valentine's Day comic with chocolate Shogi (chapter 22.1). In the main story, it's still the end of November/start of December.
The game of chocolate Shogi was actually incorporated into the Valentine's Day arc of the main story in Chapter 72.

Listen to your cat, it's pretty smart. Also, I don't think I've read another manga which has done the middle school romance from 0 interactions to slowly getting closer to becoming friends to crushing on each other to falling in love as well as this one. Never. Yugami kun is the only other manga which has done the slow gradual romance this well, but well that wasn't really a romance manga, and romance was only a tertiary focus in it. Boku no Kokoro is just so good at portraying the subtleties of school romance that it makes me smile everytime.

Also nice to see the rating getting higher and higher with each release. As I said before, I take personal pride in it.
The only other middle-school romance I've experienced in manga/anime so far is SukiMega (The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses), which is also written by a woman like BokuYaba, if I'm not mistaken. Though I will note that Komura and Mie's first year of interacting goes by pretty quickly with a slice-of-life approach to show them getting comfortable around each other as at least acquaintances, their second year as desk buddies (their final year of middle school) seems to take it slower and really starts to emphasize them truly getting to know each other as they finally start breaking through each other's defenses and insecurities to truly connect with each other.

They're also absolutely adorable little goobers that are technically more pure than Yamada and Ichikawa, so I've enjoyed both of their stories for different reasons. SukiMega is just so much gosh darn sugary sweetness that it's a diabetic overload, but this feels more awkward and real, and acknowledges the hormonal madness of puberty in a way that I feel many others shy away from.

Edit: there's another slow, more what I'd call 'natural' relationship development story that I've also been reading, though it's going a lot slower and it has an anime that went further because the real source is a light novel that's way, way ahead of the manga and it really has no hope of catching up... And it's also written by a woman. The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, originally written by woman author Saeki-san but illustrated for manga by a 'Wan Shibata'. Literally a couple that starts out as a relationship built on the exchange of favors and 'because I feel like it' excuses for helping one another that turns into what amounts to a married couple that hasn't admitted they're even boyfriend and girlfriend (but they will reach that stage and start actually dating and not just sharing their evenings and weekends at the boy's apartment- it's at least double the manga volumes away from where the story is currently at (manga has 5 volumes currently, so closer to 10 volumes, likely, beore that point), since I think the manga has adapted up to vol2 of the LN, and the proper 'confessions' take place end of vol4 of LN, and the anime adapts the first two volumes pretty solidly then starts skipping around with 3 and 4 so it could end the first season on the conession).
