i think in Dr stone, the character chrome uses it slot and it's translated as Bad like that's so badass. And in princess connect everyone's favorite foodie princess uses yabai desu ne, and it's translated as that's crazy.

More reason to learn Japanese.

@Aquadile I think it's similar to "sick" in english, the same way it can be used to imply something bad or something good like "sick af".
Pekora also says "Yabakunai?" when something cool is happening on screen.
We have a similar one in Arabic, "مريع", which literally translates to "Terrible" but actually sometimes used to imply that something is "terribly good".

Some lines here makes more sense, then in Boredom (which is surprising, I trusted their translation, but in last chapter something felt off), BUT - "The woof-woof of woofs" line from Boredom is top of the tops and sounds way better, I must say 😅
