I'm confused. Ichikawa called Yamada to go out in the middle of the night, and then he met her at the entrance to her building? When is this supposed to be happening? If they are still in middle school ("junior high" or whatever), her parents won't let her out that late, will they?

Hmm, in the comments on another translation of the same chapter, ItsThatBriGuy is saying that this is a flash-forward (as opposed to a flashback). That is, we're seeing some scene from the future in relation to the main story in regular chapters.

@masquerader I could definitely see this sliding into the main timeline around late fall or so. Wouldn't be the first flash-forward we've had in these extras, after all.

This being a flash-forward makes sense to me, because half of the panels in this extra chapter is Ichikawa's memories of the events of the main story.
