Yeah, that's not dog behavior, that's cat, 'You will pay attention to me now' behavior. I know it very well, as a cat person born to a cat people family.
That's the thing- they're both cats, but they're different personalities of cats. Anna is the super-social cat that wants all the attentions, especially if you're not paying attention to her, and will get in your face for the attentions you owe her... and Kyo is the skittish cat that'll run if you're not sneaky about it, and is fine just sitting nearby.
My last cat was a real sweetheart that loved to get up on my desk and sit between me and my keyboards, lay on top of my arms, if she had to. She was just the sweetest black cat with a scratch over one of her eyes that she moved, but it didn't really focus well on anything. Vets said there was nothing really bad about the eye except for the scratch, so we let it be after doing some saline solution home treatment on their recommendation, just in case.
She was a remnant of my relationship with my ex (amicable break-up). She knew I'd take care of her, and I made sure to, sent her photos of little Bruja every so often, so she knew she was doing alright. She came with that name, for reference, and we thought it was a perfectly fitting name for this precious black kitty who ended up doing circles around our mattress on the floor in the apartment, as if she was setting down a ward for us.
