Poor page-four Icchi. I was briefly afraid for his life.

The manga made this situation much more clear to me. It's more obvious here that Yamada understood that Ichikawa's words can be applied to them (Yamada and Ichikawa) as well, while Ichikawa didn't understand the implication.

But I personally couldn't "read" it in Yamada's expression in the anime (season 2, episode 7):

Plus, when Ichikawa asks why Yamada made the face, Yamada changes the topic very quickly in anime, while in manga, it totally depends on how fast you're reading, so you've got a bit more time to think about this panel.

Yeah, this date starts off on quite the bad foot, with the ones that aren't paired up ending up spending time being early together and causing misunderstandings. Those stares and glares from their significant others...

I did love the 'in sync' moment, and Yamada getting Ichi to do the W.

Also, Hara is so precious. Kanzaki is a lucky guy. The jealous death-glare isn't warranted, but I understand it all the same.

Briefly afraid of him having a pot-kettle moment..?
I'd have understood if you said page 2 (Yamada's jealousy glare), or page 11 (Kanzaki's death-glare), but 4, where he describes Hara and Kanzaki's situation that perfectly mirrors his own situation with Yamada without him realizing didn't feel like any sort of life-threatening moment.
