He seriously tried to let her just take the muffin home, but you saw how she, predictably, nearly scarfed the thing down almost immediately. If he wasn't there to stop her and force her to slow down, she might have eaten the packet with the bracelet in it whole.
Also love how that little extra bit on Pg17 got partially added in to extend the scene on the train in the anime, with a further addition of that being him taking the initiative, for once, and asking them to take a moment after they arrive, similar to how the anime had him actually tell Nanjou off when he cornered both Kyo and Moe about Anna's LINE address- anime Kyo has just a few more moments of courage.
I'm not sure if I like that more than her just inferring that he had something to show her and leading him to their usual spot near the station on her own, though, so he could choose to reveal it then.
I also liked the fact the episode was titled "
We're Overflowing" and not just "I'm Overflowing" like here, because it does feel like a lot of this chapter was about the two of them together, not just Kyo.
Anyway, I think it's neat how it sinks in how Anna had to have courage, too, to give her muffin to him a month prior. She had ample opportunities to do it all day, but she only just barely managed to hand it over when the day was nearly over, and she even had to come back out and by his house, because she basically missed all the normal opportunities and had to force one.
The fact that Anna, too, struggles to be forward enough for this relationship, at times. Just because she's more outgoing doesn't mean she finds these things easier to do, necessarily.
