Lots of episode segments were pretty strong in the anime. Gotta admit, that scene when Anna found out it was his birthday didn't have the same impact as here in the manga, looking back over it. Oh well.
I did like how they managed to squeeze in the first few pages of this chapter into a single scene, though, and had more interaction with Lucifer Nigorikawa in the conversation with Kana in the process. They also used a bit more subtext instead of outright saying what he was. I mean, it's not like we need to have Kyo just say it plainly, after all. Just showing him grow and shrink like he did with as much explanation as he gave was sufficient to get the point across.
And... yeah... She started calling him Kyo last chapter, but that doesn't mean she was going to keep doing it if her own courage gives out. It's also easier to fall back on old habits than to form a new one like that. Gonna take a bit more time for her to be comfortable with calling him Kyo more consistently.
I also highlighted in one of the extras between this chapter and last how she seemed to agonize over something the day after, and I speculated it's because she worries first-name basis might be going too fast, and this is basically her backpedaling a bit on that, semi-temporarily. She might call him Kyo in more private situations, though, in the near future- I can't recall, but it might be something like that, for now.
