This is one of the reasons I'm tempted to drop this series.
"Trump cards" being asspulls like some schoolyard fight.
"Character strength/growth" that flips on and off like a light switch.
It's hard to invest in a plot -- when the value fluctuates wildly and is internally inconsistent.
Well, I mean the only times she was actually able to
use her peak Saint Rank power.. she transforms into either her semi-dragon or complete dragon form. No way in hell she could fight with her newfound
Grand Rank power in her default state.
Though, indeed confusing why she
didn't access that power in this time of need. I'm only assuming that she can't currently use her full power whilst recovering from that Dragonbane poison.. but it could at least be pointed out properly. This series sometimes has major issues with explaining things.
Just like how at the beginning of the series I thought Merlin was some dude Isekai'd into Lucifer III's body with how the narration said he's from "another world".. when it probably actually meant he's from the so-called "Previous Realm" (or previous Era) or some other dimension within this fantasy world.
A third example is also not providing enough clarity early-on with why Merlin was fired as Demon King. People were confused if it was hin intentionally leaving due to the curse or because of corrupt opposition within the Demon Council.. when it was really
both. As evident from what Asmodeus asked Merlin, he was a highly-competent King but decided to neglect his duties and get himself fired in order to give himself an excuse to leave the Palace and deal with his curse.
This series doesn't have inconsistent writing.. but it sure as hell does sometimes have an issue with providing proper clarity on things for readers. Honestly only been able to keep up with everything speeding through the chapters which has let me remember all the smaller plot details so far. Once I catch up.. likely gonna be hell keeping up with everything in the plot having forgotten a lot every time I come back for a new chapter release.
