I don't think anyone would be so idiotic as to believe a stranger walking into their house, then who claimed the house's child as their own. Let alone agreeing to relinquish it without any proof.

At least, a simple "I don't believe you. Prove it." This is ridiculous forced drama.

I mean, the elves know for a fact the child hatched from an egg that arrived a few short days ago. That's pretty good evidence corroborating their story. Add to this that Alice and Merlin are pretty sure they never had a kid, it makes sense they could be convinced. To me at least

Nah she ain't a POS. That's a straight-up ignorant way to look at it. Maybe her father arguably (I personally see him as just idiotic).. but sure as hell not Shirley in any world.

Shirley is just weak-willed.. people-pleaser.. easily peer-pressured.. whatever you wanna call it. Especially that personality type is the most vulnerable in situations where they only believe they only have pre-determined choices, and not their own.

Completely forgivable in my book. Shirly just needs growth as a person to stand up for her beliefs, which will probably happen in the next chapters anyways. Only time I consider it unforgivable is if it's to the point of being a blindly-loyal retard like that Redbud Knight Macefield who utterly obeyed every horrible order of the false Queen before.
