I saw this chapter on a Tumblr, and I went back to check it. Teruhashi really does like Saiki for himself. Most people imagine Saiki to be some excitable or more popular version of himself, but Teruhashi really sees him as he is.
@ryouhira well, he's not interested in her romantically, but she IS sorta a friend to him so he'd rather her be in a happy sort of relationship than just hook up with some douche. (personally though i'd prefer if he just cut her loose and left her to twist in the wind)
