Lol. It could be platonic friendship. It could be romantic friendship (in a way that a person kinda feels something but all circumstances considered isn't eager to push on with it). It could be the budding love which stays as designated friendship because of societal norms that would make the relationship unacceptable. The border between "friendly love" and "love love" is not very distinct any way.

But it's a fanservice manga, people! Any pairing bait is deliberate. Any interpretation is valid.

I have to ask as this discussion is confusing without clarification, doesn't gay or straight refer to sexual attraction and not love per say? I see "love" to be a general term because (as far I can remember) English doesn't have a specific word for each different kind of love. The main modifier used to differentiate love seems to be if there is a sexual attraction involved (romantic love) or no sexual attraction (platonic love).

Personally, I think its Platonic because I don't see any sexual attraction between the two.

I mean, you could also just be seeing gay where there is none. That’s a thing common online in shipping communities hanging on to and amplifying relationships beyond what they are, disregarding that people can love each other platonically.

Sharon is a very open person and Gerbera wanted to learn how to be more like her and it is possible that she came to love that about her and the kind of person that she is. That doesn’t mean she feels an attraction to her. Like someone else said, we already had a yuri couple so if the author wanted to do it they would.

I agree with @Tamerlane on this. It seems people don't understand that love isn't always in a romantic vein. Gerbera just cherishes her friendship with Sharon that much, even if they do it in secret from the prying eyes of everyone's in their lives (but I bet many might know about their secrecy). I don't know why every relationship "needs" to be a ship. You can get a better grasp of Gerbera's situation if you put yourself in her shoes, she was raised as an only child, had a strict education by their parents, and wasn't allowed to make friends throughout her schools days, and past that, she was engaged to her to be husband probably from an early age (7-8 years), she had 3 children before 24, and so on. That's a lot of pressure on a young mind, making it hard not to fuck her education and psych at some point, in the case in question, her socialization skills.

I don't know why you lot need to jump the gun here. I'm not saying it can't be a Yuri relationship, but it's highly likely this might not be the case. Gerbera had a difficult life as a noble kid, so I'm just glad she found a good friend and confidant to relieve her worries, especially when one of her kids is cursed and her husband is gravely ill haha.

@brokenipod Assuming if Komi remains stiff and unable to properly communicate, maybe?
but Tadano is the one that genuinely reached out to her first and become her first friend, so Tadano will be the closest person in her heart, unlike Gerbera and her husband (that eventhough he was a good husband that cares about her and I assume honestly loves her, was not "enough" to properly heal her inability to form a proper relationship with people).

but Komi may become a bit distant to her own kids, like gerbera 😃

I dont care whether its platonic or romantic, though I do find the fact that we've yet to see either of their husbands to be funny(and also the author probably expected people to take it to far because of that)

With that being said, Sharon is the over positivity character whose even overbearing in a way. She's totally the girl who could casually say "Oh Rob, you're the best! I love you" to Rob if he helped her and obviously both parties would know she isnt being serious and their wouldnt be a super big debate analyzing the subtext to see if rob and sharon like each other. And yeah....THIS is the girl who taught gerbera how to socialize.

Its not crazy to think gerbera picked up some of sharon's lingo despite the fact that when she says it, it gives a completely different feel and it does become a bit arguable on whether she means it or not.
