Maybe Sharon talked about Alice and the duke crush and fondness for eachother with the mc mom or the information got out from another source and mc mother did not like that, might have even tried to point fingers at her and Alice saying cruel stuff which might have angered Sharon into cursing mc mom plan of succession and how she treats her children by cursing the duke but in doing so she made sure to still keep a path open for her daughter to be together with the duke.
Curse might break when they take a vow/oath to be together for better or worse and seal it with a kiss. That is why when mc confessed his feeling for Alice she was happy but also sad.

Continuing my last comments:
And also, when he confessed again with him saying he did gave a thought of cutting ties with his parents and his claim on the headseat of his house 'cause the only thing much more precious to him is her and she is all he needs.
Ah, maybe that's why she was against that 'cause she loves that their feeling for each other is mutual but she also understand that all this might only be because he was curse into being alone.
So she tried to find a way to break the curse in other ways.

I know that this may seem weird, but we have seen nothing that indicates that Alice paints her nails.

We have seen a scene of the boy's sister do it, but never Alice. Additionally she sleeps without bothering to clear it, there doesn't seem to be chipofs (though that could just be the author not bothering to do such a tiny nonsensical touch)

Either way, seeing her as child having her nails painted made me think. What if they aren't painted but are naturally like that? And that has something to do with their species.

For example, I can't see stupid Caph putting on nail polish every other day. She seems like the type that would growl and just stop with such a bothersome task. Which likely means her nails are naturally like this.

I am totally overthinking this, but I still think what I saidmight hold some nugget of truth.
