@naeon I finally get it. The frame we're dealing with is the very short wide one with a maid and an unknown top hat, just above the "It is destiny" frame. OK, I hadn't even really noticed that one before. Got it, got it, feeling dense.

Say, it's a good thing Rob doesn't mix his words up, or he would have been introducing himself by saying "I am the gardener, Rob Butler."

@Purplelibraryguy that is exactly how I read it at first lol.

I was worried about rob at first, but it just seems like he is a great guy, but I do wonder about the destiny bit.

Rob must've felt that the huge burden on him became lighter.

Since his worries is not for his curse. Instead it's a worry of a true butler, "Will i raise him well?", "The duke is not well", "The duke needs friends".

He doesn't care about his curse, rather he care about the duke well being. And alice lighten rob worries that the duke will commit suicide someday.

He smoke because of his worries about the duke.

In a simpler way you can say "rob is cool" -togwrlp

On a personal note WHERE CAN I FIND A GUY LIKE ROB?

I really hate this "I want you to be with your family cliche". This isn't like Toradora where the family actually cares about him, or is putting in the effort, or her relationship would cause any problems. The siblings love her and a relationship would change nothing. The mother is always going to be a cunt, albeit with some contrived and obvious justification for her bitchy attitude, and relationship or not, nothing will change. And if he got a cure, the mother would instantly put him to use for "the sake of the family" before some bs change of heart. It's a pointless internal struggle.

We all need a good friend like the duke, a woman the maid, and a good drinking buddy like Rob.

@Yautja let's not forget that she doesn't have a family anymore... and was abused by her guardians.

Meanwhile, the duke still has a family that he may come back to and, despise what you may think, actually ain't that bad. Did you see any of them being hostile toward him?

they kinda know /suspect who cursed the duke but it like a family secret thing. remember the witch elder using the crow witch to destroy sharon diary because the duke got too close to the truth. ughhhh we need to know so bad.

Hmmm, it's a surprisingly common trope in manga that relatives outside of a child's immediate family, even ones as close as an aunt or a grandma, aren't expected to take them in if something happens with their parents, and if they do, treat them like shit.
What's up with that? It's kinda a given in our culture to take care of your orphaned younger relatives, and it would of course be socially quite unacceptable to treat them badly. Is it somehow different in Japanese culture?
