even though she had no choice, it wouldve been a great moment for him to express even a bit of resentment towards his mom for shunning him throughout his life. having the mc forgive and forget like that for that perfect sweet ending is just beyond cheap, his ass would've been dead in the snow if it wasn't for some maid. there's no loving parent alive that would make their own child go through all of that and I don't even think she's ever apologized too lol.
