I expected both the medusa and the girls to be petrified. After all, this allows both the girls to see the medusa (=> girls petrified) and the medusa to see herself (=> medusa petrified).
This seemed like a dumb plan to me from the beginning, which got even worse when they didn't lock the door.

It's interesting how dehumanizing the girls' work is. Got to kill people, to incinerate bodies (sometimes more), to get petrified engulf in one's own piss... They are adjustment variables. They are cogs in an inhumane machine. And they aren't like trying to save the world or another thing. They just do their work and try to survive in the setting they are in, in the laziest possible way, like you and me are doing IRL.
