Reading through this, I was not expecting for me to have a genuine question about the nature of my own sexuality. To give a short run-down, I saw the cover art before I read the title and thought that the Demon King was a woman, and read through the first chapter with that misconception but still enjoyed it nonetheless. And then when I did realize that the Demon King is a man I had the knee-jerk reaction of "ew yaoi I'm gonna drop this series". It's just simply not a genre that appeals to me, I like cute girls and I see yaoi as huge men getting sweaty together. But if you've read any of this series, you realize that it's a very cute slice of life.

Demon King himself has a very adorable personality, quirks, and looks at the very least androgynous enough to fool me for a chapter. And like I said I really did enjoy the first chapter, so why is the Demon King being a man such a problem for me? Is it really just the idea of a two penises that's enough to turn me away from a whole series? I've read quite a few doujin with traps in them in my time, TMI but I really enjoyed them. And for those who don't know trap being a man who passes as a woman and fools others. So is there really a difference between two men getting sweaty and two men getting sweaty but one is effeminate? I think so.

I know this question has been clowned on, but could you love your significant other if they were a worm? This question in essentiality is asking you to put aside the physical attraction you hold for someone and ask if you could love someone for pure personality. If your girlfriend of 3 months revealed that she was a guy the whole time, would you stay with him? In todays society where people can switch their gender it's a somewhat important question to ask. Of course having preferences is fine, but how much of sexuality is directly tied to a persons genitals?

Going over the thought for long enough, I could go out with a guy who is girly enough. I wouldn't want to go out with someone who's butch, and yeah while that singles out a majority of the male population, there is bound to be someone who isn't like all the other boys. So going forward in the future, I'll give yaoi and boys love more thought and attention before making the judgement call of dropping them. Because I might've thrown out a few gems like this manga.

And with that I leave with this closing thought
If they're cute enough to fool you, why not give them a shot?

Thats an awful lot of words that can be summed up as "I feel insecure about reading a non-erotic romance between two guys because it makes me question myself."

I fucking love how the Demon King is like the primest specimen of Himbo.
Look at him, dumb as a brick and absolutely as cute as hell. Looking forward to the serialization.
