Quite like this series so far. Often, when they have a set-up such as this, the MC will just whine and complain about their work, and everything they do will be an attempt to get out of it - the MC in this case is giving it his all so that he can be lazy later.
It's a small difference, but one I can appreciate.

I'm hopeful that this isn't another malicious saint cliche. If I were authoring this, the revelation she received would be something along the lines of Joshua needed to be expelled in order to found the new kingdom as it will save both kingdoms in the future. The saint hasn't seemed to harbor ill will in the appearances she has had and everyone including Joshua willingly went along with the expulsion.

Not sure but for as can see is just the Saint is stupidly overconfident and naive about the Gods Will, and don't care a sht about anything that transgression that possibility of you have to do solving those complex things to make that gods will more realistic

Is like: Oh those citizens are being forced to pay high taxes, yeah is for help us to build a big church if not for that, you are just heretic that don't pray enough and god just punish you. That kind of vibe of youth faith can solve ANYTHING

Still no clue on the Saint's motives, eh?

No malicious intent from the saint, only duty. Saint is a sheltered existence, partially without will of her own. Later, as a problems keep growing, mainly the plague, she started to have doubts in her decisions along with memories o younger Joshua trying to make her less rigid due to her education. In 'latest' translated chapters there speculation that prophecy was incorrectly interpreted.

Wait.... A furnace. An actual ff'n furnace made from concrete....

No rebar, no lining, no insulation, forced-set....
Hoboi... I'd love to see someone try that one out.
Preferably when I'm at a safe distance, but close enough to get the inevitable result on camera. Must have proof for nominations for the Darwin Award, after all....
With that wall thickness and the temperature differential, there's going to be shards flying. At speed.....

Almost as stupid as the Dwarves not knowing how to build a loam furnace..
Serviceable on this world for... ummm <checks>.. at least 6500 years.... And that was a semi-industrial settlement...

I kinda hope the twist is that the gos they've been praying to is actually an evil god. Or at least a dick. XD

oh as for the added bonus (if my memories serve me right)
in the wn the pope was then being told about the prophecy that our mc need to get out of the country asap unless a ruin will happened (this happened way back before they exile our mc) and the pope with all his confusion struggle for the answer and end up choose the exile which ironacly because of this sure our mc later on found the cure for the said decease but many people start to doubt the prophecy in the first place which put a heavy burden on the saint and the pope

“I have faith in god it’ll work out”

Hopefully irl religious ppl aren’t as bad then again ppl fall prey to cults each time

well the saint really want to meet the mc thought since our mc is dear to her but she can't go against the church teaching
