Feels like the story is rushing through multiple arcs at once.
MC got stuff stolen from him in his first quest, if he had kept the stone a second longer the guild would have to compensate him for it at least.
The other summoner decided to give MC a promotion quest that is terrible for him right now as his experience with the new power is super low and his injuries didn't heal, is pretty stupid from him to accept it from someone that wanted to kill him to steal loot.
Only advantage from a promossion I can see is some bonus from the association or the VF guild getting more jobs.
But again, they don't need it right now.
