Fable. He's shinobi, right? Like genuine ninja-type ninja. I mean, that's what the whole Fable organization is... Right?
No one's talking about this in the comments, and I'm not certain, but it totally fits. They're invisible assassins with seemingly superhuman techniques. They work in secret for the rich, bad and powerful. Satou was put through an insanely brutal survival training regimen that began in early childhood. He seems to have spent his life in complete isolation from normal human society (as though in a secret fortress dojo hidden somewhere in the woods). Even the dark mask he wears when working. And then there's fact that ninjas and ninjutsu are themselves a fable, an ancient myth.
Just a shot in the dark, but I have a hunch...
