For some reason, I don’t think Dowun is on the same page as his father lmao. I still don’t like his relationship with Lyon (love him as his own character though), but the most important thing rn is to get rid of the secret plotters. I hope Lyon, Baek, and Dowun can work together to take them down without anyone dying hahaha or am I wishing for too much :’)

Tbh all I want out of this manhwa is for Lyon to live a chill and happy life where she doesn’t always have to watch herself. I mean if she remains queen, there will always be a possibility. But it’s worse than ever right now. Just don’t take anyone else away from Lyon and let her be happy for once and we good

i mean he is just against the leads right? that doesnt make him a villain.....but yea he got twisted
in some ways , sadly all of them are , except baek han (i hope nothing happens to him)
but maybe it's u know what the story is about , a lot of twisted people who did things to each other and they are just trying to struggle and live their lives out somehow ,trying to not be powerless?

That sorta explains a bit why the brother would be willing to work with her of all people. Something definitely broke inside him for that to happen.

She actually sees herself as a mirror to Dowun? Sure, they have some similarities now, especially since she learned a lot from him, but all the way back in the past? I just don't see it.

She chose the power and attention Dowun promised over a friend, right to his face even. "Greedy" and a "little twisted" sums it up nicely. She just also has a conscience, something Dowun has yet to demonstrate.

@kltigerm Previous chapters have shown Hong Lyon as increasingly sullen and rebellious against Dowun's control and influence; even she's been acting out against Dowun's influence on her. This would alarm the Yang family head, as she might end up becoming a wildcard they can't control anymore and ruin their plans to take the throne. So a new pawn is needed, one who is much more indebted to them this time. In this case, Jayang.

@Marchimarch To be fair, Dowun already had quite a bit of influence on her at that point. Plus, I believe her decision was also born out of fear of losing what little happiness and comfort she's gained thanks to someone else's mistake, compared to Dowun's ruthless pragmatism.

@zz2000 They made the decision to save Jayang before Hong Lyon was acting sullen and rebellious. The closest she came to stepping out of line is when Dowun didn't want her to know they were about to assassinate her father.

I don't think the family has liked Dowun's rise to power. When Dowun was 14/15 (right before the incident with his brother), the King asked him if a recent good idea had been Dowun's. Then the King said something like, "Finally, somebody useful from your clan." The entire clan got dissed in favor of a child. Also, it was their own father who insisted that naive Dogyeol live full-time in the capitol. Dowun expressed misgivings about letting his brother be that close to things, which turned out to be justified. Whether the father is just that blonde or not, it seemed like an odd choice to make Dowun responsible for his training and wellbeing. You would think he had enough on his plate trying to build political favor and elevate the entire clan's name...not to mention lay the foundation to usurp the throne one day.
