Making provisions for the coup is a good starting point, but there are other ways he can help without fighting such as tactical advise and training.the coup will likely work out just fine. from the initial party that went to defeat the demon king we have the prince acting fake hero (likely unable to fight), the dunce who just grew his harem and likely didn't bother moving an inch for training, the saintess who's just not strong on offense (but might be on support) and the sage who will not help them at all.
and then they'll have the real hero in the back who might not attack once, but will be able to easily defend every attack targeted against the village.
Kek, not even 3 pages after introducing the problem, the solution appears - a new haremette!
Not only that! She even reminds us that the country is starving so you can rise the price of your produce!
Now we will pretend to forget that the country suffers because of the false hero prince and MCs village can grow the vegetables only because earth gods support him (as Aqua said after she got released and promised to help him).
It's kinda incredible how fast and how much unlikable MC has became in those few chapters!
His Logic and Reasoning doesn't really make a sense for me.For those who are degrading Noel as the MC/Hero, in his defense, he's already served the kingdom for the sake of peace, or at least his previous vision of it. What did he get in return? Having the fame and glory taken away from him is one thing, he didn't care about that, but the king of the country he served made an order to destroy his hometown to wipe out any evidence of the real hero's existence.
"His logic and reasoning are sound"
His method of peaceful life is already full of red flagsHis Logic and Reasoning doesn't really make a sense for me.
If he just taking a little revenge to the king and prince while hiding his real identity and help the coup to success, he can life more peacefully in his village in long time than life under constant threat like now.
Noel's reasoning isn't all the sound tho because by ignoring said kingdom he's practically allowing them to continue harassing him and his village and impersonate his identity (which has already been established to be a big crime by the holy kingdom) which causes the people to be too fearful of protesting against the royal family for the harsh taxes for pointless and selfish projects. For those who are degrading Noel as the MC/Hero, in his defense, he's already served the kingdom for the sake of peace, or at least his previous vision of it. What did he get in return? Having the fame and glory taken away from him is one thing, he didn't care about that, but the king of the country he served made an order to destroy his hometown to wipe out any evidence of the real hero's existence.
I don't know where you got the thought that the country betrayed Noel but saying that the country turned against the MC isn't correct it's more like the country isn't aware of who the actual hero is and due to Noel refusing to take any form of action against the royal family the people suffer for it (putting Noel in an even more harsher light than before) so the country never betrayed him but the royal family and his allies did. Simply put the people don't deserve this harsh treatment at all period.Though it's not everyone in the country who turned against the MC, the king is the figurehead that represents the country as a whole. His word and command could represent what the entire kingdom decides to do with its neighbors and citizens that live within it. This decision will ultimately lead the country to its epic downfall, with or without the coup. Their demise isn't Noel's fault, they got rid of him. Why should he take responsibility in saving the country who betrayed and abandoned him? I don't see his actions up to this point making him an unlikable character. His logic and reasoning are sound.
There's nothing wrong with him wanting to continue building his own little village but we the readers have basically seen Noel be relaxed and selfless with the people he's helped and even his ambition of building a village is for a selfless reason so why does he make such a stupid and selfish decision that could easily comeback to bite him over and over again when its been established that the royal family will continue to harass him if he doesn't do anything about it.In comparison, taking care of a village is like taking care of a kingdom, but much smaller in scale, and Noel's basically working from the ground up as a villager, not the hero. Kingdoms don't appear overnight, so this village could be the beginning of a new one in the making where Noel, himself, will rule as its king. Will he be a better
or worse king than the one who abandoned him? We'll have to see if it goes in that direction.
