Was this kangaroo-style court drama really necessary? What kind of fool would start an official inquiry on the highest ranking official of the country, the King no less, WITHOUT bringing any evidence to the hearing? All it was, was slinging of accusations and the near drowning of the case, waiting for a miracle to shed some light on the problem. This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever read.

At this point it's just bad writing.. You get thrown into random scenes that are filled with 12 Year olds talking to each other. it's hard to see the story as anything other than a joke about itself, maybe the novel is better, but the manga certainly isn't e_e

Pretty much. Plus the king is all "lololol you have nothing" and then the moment Noel walks in he shouts out "THE REAL HERO IS ALIVE!" like an idiot. If he kept his trap shut he could've tried to wiggle out of that and claim Noel's a traitor and the order is a forgery or something, but he just suddenly drops like 80 IQ points and pretty much incriminates himself unprompted.

Whoever's scripting this adaptation is absolute ass. It's like they're just picking scenes and bits at random and then letting the pacing around that be all over the place. I have no idea what the novel this is based on is actually like, but I have hard time believing that it's this shoddy.

Which sucks because I enjoyed the initial slower slice-of-life bits with Noel in his village. And then it all goes to shit as if the author wants to speed-run all the important drama bits to... whatever end they're working towards.
Maybe the weird ass pacing is cause they want to speed run through these events so they can get back to the village stuff.

As for the King I don’t blame him for saying that. He was told that he was killed so anyone would have been thrown off by the dead suddenly appearing in front of them.

As for evidence it seems like they did have some in the form of testimonies from the King’s Hand and the court mage lady but didn’t expect one would be gone and they’d be unable to break through the encryption to support the other’s testimony

What even is the point of a "fair trial" after a coup d'état? Solid proof or not you already took over, just get on with it.
The point is to add legitimacy to the coup. If they just went straight to the guillotine then it would be regicide and could give other countries an excuse to invade. Having a trial is the right thing to do in this situation as it robs the other countries justification to their people on why it would be okay to invade the country.

First, the court case is not necessary. This is a coup, remember? The purpose of the coup is too overthrow the authority so they already have ALL the power to punish the old regime.

Or, in case they really want to play it this way (to justify their action or whatever), they SHOULD already have evidence in hands before starting the coup. Every coup requires a just cause and this guy already failed this when they started the stupid coup without grabbing a hard evidence to fault the old regime.

And lastly, did the idiot king just blurted out the word Real Hero himself? Why?! That's a stupid Deus-ex machina way to prove himself guilty. And, what's the reason why he kept the assassination order? The order was passed and the deed is done. It serves ZERO purpose anymore except being a CONVENIENT evidence of his wrong doing; and it really was.

God! This whole chapter lower the bar even further when I also thought it couldn't be any worse. Well done, author. Well done.

I'm not entirely sure we can blame the author for this one. Remember, this was done very differently, as a whole, in the WN, and, although some forum people would complain about "UGH, PUSSY HERO NOT FIGHT KINGDOM", things go a fair bit smoother. As has been mentioned previously, the goddess basically comes down and immolates his ass after the (smooth and efficient) coup, on top of evidence being brought in (the holy sword is a (unintentional) wiretap, bay-bee!)

Never underestimated the power of editors going "But this needs more [thing] to sell." And apparently, the Hero not needing to intervene, instead building up the village he held so much affection for (while zamaa happens in the background, like many a "I got a new (slow?) life" type WNs), wouldn't sell.

It's... kind of morbidly amusing how the girl who got replaced by Aina never got named in the end. So they introduced yet another girl to fill in for the needed competency. Need new skills? Quick, introduce yet another new girl with said missing skill. There, problem solved lol. I'm just a bit surprised they had Noel do the cracking instead of bringing in yet another girl conveniently specialized in that field to do it.

Even though this looks like a show trial, I understand that the new rulers of the kingdom would want to establish even a bit of legitimacy as the foundation of their new rule. It helps with the stability of the new state, rather than outright just executing the previous ruler which would help, say, the Saintess's child to gain sympathy for a claim in the future that his/her throne was usurped for no good reason, where here they officially establish how the king was truly corrupt and why he was overthrown.
