Is the actual translation purityfag or is that a localization thing?
I'm pretty sure everyone who spends sufficient time reading certain places of the Japanese internet knows exactly what word I translated as “purityfag”. You can look it up under “処女厨” if interested but I doubt you'll find it in any bilingual dictionary.
But yes, there's a Japanese word for it, insofar that:
- It's internet slang
- It pretty much means the same thing
- It's typically used as an insult by those who don't take kindly to the mentality
The only potential difference, which I listed in the notes is that this word is quite explicit about being concerned with female virginity while “purityfag” isn't. The translation can make it seem that Kakeru cares about virginity in general but the Japanese makes it seem that it's purely female virginity.
My translations are actually far more literal than most translations.
