Subaru coming in clutch. A true friend and actual embodiment of Kaoruko's guardian. When she said that, she truly meant it.

This is part of why I love this manga. They're technically only teens, but they maturely chose to talk it out and have conversations like adults, even if the others don't agree and don't understand. Heck, this is more than what actual adults in other manga are like. For once I enjoy a story where people make more intelligent decisions than usual. These girls ARE supposed to be smart, after all. They didn't immediately cut Kaoruko off, or bully her or outright betray her to the bad teachers. Biases aside, I acknowledge that they are still concerned for her.

"I can't do that."
The female lead of this manga has spoken, and she WILL live true to herself. She refuses to break up with the boy she loves out of mere appearances and prejudice, risking even her honor student status. She's just built different, even under this pressure from her misguided friends.

Madoka also receives due credit from me for being open minded unlike her peers. Somebody get Madoka to join our merry little gang, she looks like she'll fit right in! I have no idea if she actually gets shipped with someone, but I don't appreciate getting spoiled. Reading some of these prior comments might have been a terrible mistake...
