man thats like canceling your import contract for materials because its not making money itself. just the height of stupidity. that being said i always enjoy watching people falling into ruin because of their stupid decisions

Since the MC is the only one in his entire department I assume that he is the head. So instead of monologuing in your head why not point out the contradictions with examples? The MC has the air of "it's too much of a pain to explain, or defend, so why bother". He doesn't even try to lobby for his department, or his, self worth. Why would you assume ppl would make good decisions based on bad information? Just because you put in the work diligently, obediently, and quietly, ppl would inherently take notice? The only ppl that can properly defend your self interests is you, so stop assuming things will just "work out" if you do nothing.

The MC gave up long ago when he stopped defending, this was the inevitable result.

Also that job change to department of manual labor was an insult, not a kindness. I don't know why they would be shocked that he would quit the company when they basically fired him from his primary vocation.
