Depends on what you mean by training. The WN explains that physical training basically does not work:

No external stimulus, no food, no eating, no pooping, no tiredness (no sleep!) and constant light would be mentally rough for anybody. Frost notes:

SJW has the skill Hero's Mind that improves his mental strength to keep him sane during the isolation. He also has Frost, so he can talk and interact with somebody else.

Okay that makes a lot more sense it does feel like there should be more wiggle room under those conditions but they definitely covered their ass a lot better than they did here
