Even if the appraisal skill is rare I'd think the guild master would have money/connections to get some weapons recognized

Interesting he said sensei rather than a Korean equivalent unless he literally said sensei in the raws vs a tl choice

Mask aside it's prolly easier to talk directly versus just getting a handful of items in a room and writing notes next to them for pickup later

Plus the guilds a known/trusted reliable company so I doubt anyone would've tried to kidnap him to get an "appraisal slave"
