tbf he started out just selling stuff based on leftover scraps /in the wake of other adventurers, at least he's not given it away for free
(tho idk if he had a job before this or was with his family or so because i'm sure plenty of ppl would have 'normal' supply stores too rather than specifically for hunters unless everyone quit their 'normal 'job and decided to be a hunter versus office worker)
Sure he got scraps but he must have done some kind of research to know if his prices are high/low in comparison to others. Unless he didn't and he's somehow surviving by randomly pricing things...?
Just comes off as really odd. Like he has to account for rent/taxes on the building, electricity, the amount of labor/time he's putting in and what profit he needs to you know keep living. If he's rich then it doesn't matter but for something that's probably his livelihood you have to do research.
Sure this stuff is new stuff never before seen on the market but if you know potions cost $20 you wouldn't price better, more advanced potions at $10. You price them at $25-40 depending on effects and then play around with the price a little to see what people are willing to pay. Or something along those lines.
This just felt too careless to be from someone who seems to have had his own store for a while.
Probably too much realism for this type of story but it shouldn't completely break believability either.
