@Nylodale I thought we were also set "default" to female? I mean, we all at first had 2 X chromosomes, but then the ones known as 'males' undergo this process where one of their X chromosomes turns into a Y chromosome. I think that was what the author was thinking while writing this lmao, idk

Kinda want them to be NB for the entirety of the story, I know that's kinda a step around, but not that bad of a development for someone who's struggling with their identity💀

does anyone know if judai_yuki8 will continue translating?
if not, Is there any chance someone else will add the official translations to mangadex?

the view on gender seemed progressive at times, but also seemed conservative at other times
it's not handled gracefully imo, and made me feel uncomfortable.

I've finished reading this online elsewhere and I'll try and sum up my feelings about it without giving away any spoilers. If you're interested in the topic it's worth reading but I have issues with how it played out

First of all it feels slow and talky, I know this is a common problem with Manga but it does seem to go over the same issues again and again without reaching a solution :( Secondly as it's set in Japan it feels like a really repressive society with strict rules and limited choices. Later on this does get compared to the outside world when a minor character makes a trip abroad. Thirdly it has that annoying habit of mixing up gender identity with sexual preference which are clearly two different things :(

Essentially this is a story about puberty and the big changes that entails and asks what if you could choose to grow up as either a man or a woman? Don't expect any deep or life changing answers to that question
