okay i have one question, did this guy actually dye his hair, or what happen to his hair cuz when he was a kid, his hair was still black, but now it's something else.
Okay, this level of diabetes should be illegal.

I know some people do actually change hair color naturally from when they were very young, but usually it's a light color to a dark color, and prolly done before they even hit pre-k age. I just can't see him dying his hair, though, so I've no real explanation. Maybe his hair just looked darker in the photos?
It was literally mentioned previously in the story that his mother had his hair dyed one year (and probably kept it up), and there was even a moment where Ai Mie was looking at Kaede Komura's scalp while standing two steps above him by some stairs at school and he commented on the fact she could see his natural hair color there.

Ai Mie wants to be a picture book author? The last story I read before this had the main character's mother as a well-known picture book author... but you don't find out anything about her until the final arc of the manga, and she's even the only character who never got a facial design in the whole work- got the same treatment as the parents in this manga. Every other parent in that manga had a fully-realized design, except the secondary love interest's father who didn't even appear, only ever mentioned (as if he was still around, but somehow never seen at home in any panels when the story went to their place).
Anyway, the mom literally didn't get a name, she was simply known as the MC's mother.

I just thought it was a funny coincidence.

Come on, cheer up! It’s not like you’re alone, you know that 80% of people that read this type of adorable romcom are khhv who’ve never talked to a girl, me included. We missed out on teen love and that’s time we’re not getting back but there’s only one way to know what tomorrow is made of: be there and be trying.

There’s still a chance for us, somwhere in the future.

Thanks for the chapter! Adorable shit as always. Komura's honest reaction to the invitation to stay over:

Shit... I'm part of that 20%, but it was one time over a decade ago, and only lasted for a few years. I kinda fell into a sort of stasis living with family since then, been trying to pick up the pieces of my psyche. It wasn't anything the girl did- it was more I self-destructed in my own way after we mutually called it off, but we were still awkwardly roomies for a bit. I was arguably a mess left by my parents that was barely holding it together until then, anyway. Then again, a lot of us are probably damaged goods like that, yeah?

But, anyway, I also feel the 'missed out on teen love' thing, since I was already into my 20s for that relationship. Again, I kinda feel like my parents didn't prepare me in any way to even have any hope of that sort of thing.

But, well... this manga helps heal my heart. Love stories in general please me lately. I binged a whole mess of romcom and dramedy romance and such animes in a row for a bit, and now I'm reading mangas for some of them to see how the stories played out after the final credits rolled.

Im having a hard time resolving the cuteness of a chapter like this with the character designs for the anime. I just know the anime writer is going to mess it up. They're probably thinking: "This story is too cute and sweet. Lets add some NTR to spice things up...."

I do not have high hopes for the anime.
The anime seemed pretty faithful to the first six volumes, to me. But I started with the anime, and found it refreshingly wholesome and sweet, so decided to read the manga from the start to see what, if anything, was different. At best, there might have been a few of the short (4-5 page) chapters that didn't feel familiar from the anime watch, but everything else felt exactly the same, save any visual style differences from GoHands.

The closest it got to NTR was literally the same as with the manga: Azuma seeming like he was showing interest in Mie, but then it's discovered he's wingman supreme for Komura.

something i just noticed on a reread: on page 9 when they're looking at komura's baby photos, on that panel there's also some pictures of what is presumably a girl (and probably not komura since she has light hair and a different hairstyle, unless his mom was into crossdressing him lol). it probably isn't komura's mom either since she has dark hair. i don't think it's ever explained who that person is??? my personal speculation is that it's komura's sister that went with their dad after their parents divorced and maybe that's why he feels pressured to repress his emotions and be a good, not troublesome kid.... i dunno since we never get any clarification

I don't think it's a family album but some kind of a kindergarten album, based on the "our dreams for the future" thing having multiple different kids adding stuff there.
