MC in dense yes, but its not as horrible as the MC on Infinite Stratos. At least in this manga both of them know they still to each other and it feel strange (for me) for both of them start going out imidietly after many years not to talk to each other

@icekatze it's the romcom formula. Take every non-harem, shounen LN, manga, or anime. They all have this. It's an efficient way of applying tension to the story and the characters without the need of “altering” the status quo between them, as in having actual character development. That way, you can have 200 chapters of the same scene over and over again. It's safer sales-wise, a lot more than writing a self-contained story of like 10 chapters or less, and not find much finantial success

in this one he is not dense he just denial. they were once quite close then probably something happen in their puberty (should be just around 2-3 years before this story begin) and right now the MC is still trying to gauge the distance. either so he would not hurt once more or something else.

Kinda feel bad for Torigoe with how that went, but that's far overshadowed by my relief that (at least as of yet) there's no love triangle BS.
Was that flashback even something we saw earlier? I don't remember ever seeing her before, and that one line isn't a "I fell in love then and there" kind of line. I'd thus have to assume that eating "alone" together like that led to them hanging out regularly, but if she's his friend then why haven't we ever seen her before?
