I think there's a mistranslation. Hometown of Earth is grammatically incorrect as Earth is a planet, not a town so while could be somebody's homeplanet it can't be a hometown. Should either be Hometown on Earth meaning on the planet Earth is the town he was born and raised in, or Homeplanet of Earth as in the planet Earth which is MC's home that he was born and raised on. Considering the whole Earth didn't explode but had an explosion on a small part causing major planetary damage I'd say Hometown on Earth. In any case, between his hometown and wife should really consider toning down the divine retribution for irritations. Don't know what issue with hometown was, but could've muted and divorced wife as punishment for arrogant, obsessive jealousness, and bad attitude but violently killing her for it was way worse. Not to mention, if she's like that all the time why did he marry her in the first place?
So basically, MC was an ultimate cultivator who was powerful enough to destroy part of the planet, kill his wife, and do whatever he felt like either without getting caught or punished due to being the most powerful being on Earth. Due to being bored decided to reincarnate for the nth time and woke up to a pair of carnivorous sisters eyeing him like a top quality steak place in front of them for dinner.
Btw, for those unfamiliar with the terms in summary. Dual Cultivating is the term used when a man and woman cultivate together. Usually, not always, due to a balancing of the female's Yin and man's Yang so doesn't work with two males or two females. Most of the time this means having sex as part of the ritual. A cultivation furnace is usually referring to the victim who' being forced and/or raped to dual cultivate with the rapist receiving most of the benefits towards cultivation while the victim gets little if any. In these cases the victim usually breaks physically and/or mentally or dies due to abuse, malnutrition, starvation, neglect, and numerous drugs used by the rapist for convenience with no regard for the victim's mental or physical health. This is usually more efficient and quicker than cultivating alone to achieve enlightenment, power/energy used for skills/arts/special moves, breakthroughs, and permanently boosting stats. For example, average person needs three meals and water daily, will grow old and die in 80-100 years, and more likely to break hand than the stone wall punching. Someone with high enough cultivation can gather energy need so don't need to eat or drink, will age more slowly the higher cultivation is so could live anywhere from a few centuries to a few thousand years before dying of old age, and will not only be unharmed punching stone wall, but will either shatter or punch an enormous hole in the wall.
