There are like zero rights for suspects in Japan. They can hold people extra long without a trial by holding them for the maximum allowed time of 23 days for one charge and then immediately rearresting them for another repeatedly.

When I saw that "rule" about how the time-stopping device works, it reminded me a bit about the rules of the Death Note. I just saw a video about it recently as well. And look, they murdered someone with help from a device which can affect reality in some supernatural way.
I don't expect 15-year-olds (or myself) to be perfectly calm and rational when being interrogated about a murder but it would be nice if they exchanged more information with each other.
