[ul]About the MC, mmm, I think it's ok if u don't like her, but so far she's been a really good character, IMO. She's hilarious and I've found that she's not a judgemental kid in things that matters, she's not shallow nor a gold digger (it seems but not really), she's not greedy in things like power or influence, she doesn't want to erase or abuse, she knows where are her limits and when to stop, she's aware of danger, she has a sense of justice and she knows how to repay kindness in her own way.
Yeah, it might be dissapointing for some readers the way she treats her spirits, but I guess that's just part of her conflict (with the way she died). If some people think there's not been use of her death as part of the story, I have to completely disagree. Her death is the reason why she acts in the way she does, she's full of contradictions because she's so scared of death, darkness, loneliness and pain. She's not a simple gold-digger, if she really were that way she wouldn't have given that many coins to the blind kid or use her gems for Ray, for example. She's simply trying to run away from all the factors that did lead her to that situation in the past or that would put her in a similar one (that's why she's craving for money and she's running away from studying; she wasn't forced to study like crazy because study was the most precious activity of her era, she faced all that because otherwise, she wouldn't get money and people without money in her country and in our modern world, would be equal to death -well, kinda-. If her first family would have had money, then her mom wouldn't have been as anxious as she were, the MC wouldn't have been forced to study till 11pm and wouldn't have been in that bus. That's why she thinks money can solve everything because with money she could have spent more time with her mom, that day she wouldn't have been there, hence she wouldn't have faced the accident (the oil, the fire, the darkness and ofc, her death). Weirdly enough, maybe money could have changed many of her conditions in life that lead her to that moment (or at least she thinks so).
So far I think the author has made an awesome job with her, he/she gave her a dark death and made her reborn as someone full of light. The contradiction and the contrast has been always showcased since her 1st days in this new body (for example when she was playing with her horse but had a serious face) till today (her personality: someone who seems lazy but is full of passion and energy); even her physical appearance is proof of that. She's just like her hair (full of color, intensity, and even brighter than any other blonde child) but inside of her there are always thoughts of the tunnel's darkness, the red of the explosion and the loneliness and hope of her last breath.
I really have good vibes coming from her because I think she'll grow up and change. Yeah, I know some are angry because she's supposed to be an adult already (17 plus the years she's lived in this world) but IMO I don't see anything unsensical with her way of acting and her age (so far). She knows how to handle herself, she understands the meaning behind every action and situation, and emotionally, she also understands how she needs to react in order to survive and adapt. That's something that shows how clever and advanced she is.
Even if u don't like the way she acts, I think all of her actions are supported by the idea that she doesn't want to face a painful, dark and lonely death as she had in her past life. The way she treats her spirits is just an example of her emotional state. She's not angry at the spirits, she's not being cruel to them, she's just angry at herself because even after dying she's still weak (which means that so far she's not able to protect herself and if something risky happy, she'll probably die). She screams to some of her spirits because she knows she's the one who's lacking, and I know that's not enough to erase what she's doing (which is not bad most of the time), but I think she just needs time to process her pain and find better ways of acting.
Oh, and why hasn't she done it? Well, it's simply because she hasn't lived the life of an adult yet. Idk why people are expecting her to overcome her trauma that easily, she died as a teenager who had zero chance to do anything but study, she still needed her mom and was about to reach adulthood and trying to figure it out many things; but then she reborn and had to face the life of a kid again (a life that she didn't even understand for several years as we saw). We don't change, grow and mature just because of the pass of time, we overcome our fears and face life with a new sight thanks to the people we know and interact with, and thanks to the things we experience in life. Without all that, time would be just meaningless and it wouldn't make any difference in ourselves. She needs to experience that and she's slowly doing it.
As I said, I think all of her spirits are there to help her to overcome her trauma, her aqua spirit is giving the peace of mind she needs, the light spirit is giving her the strength and sinergy she needs (IMO that's why he's always moving and changing of form, plus he's there to force her to face the danger of similar energy like fire -which is why his name's meaning is fire- and is giving her the chance to overcome all that darkness of her mind with his light, since maybe she just needs strength to be brave enough to face her new life) and Ray, as the strongest, oldest, and most different of all of them, is helping her to face (over and over) her biggest fear: death (her perception of death, darkness, morals, etc.). It's also interesting that his element is the same as the bus she was before dying and his color of the space she was, which also makes sense in his personality and how he's constantly talking with her about killing someone, the death of spirits, etc. He's probably being treated that way because he's her biggest challenge, but even if that's the case, he's her1st spirit, the most important one, he's something that she tries to hide but it's in front of everyone and something she tries to deny but it's also giving her the most comfort and support. Even if he wasn't her ideal spirit, he's there for her without consuming energy, helping her to get stronger and he'll probably be the most powerful and reliable of all of her spirits once she learns more and gains strength (which is a beautiful metaphor of life if u ask me). [/ul]
I think she's fine, just give her time~
