I can relate to her. Theory is good and all but without some actual use for it whats the point of learning it? Just because it "might come in handy" is not a reason to motivate someone to learn, you would have to let them experience the use for it for them to understand and learn properly

@Necrokora Truth. Learning theory might be essential, but having practical experience mixed in makes it easier to absorb information.

I believe both are important.

Experience without theory is like having a new acquaintance where you hang out together just to have fun without knowing each other on personal level.
That's shallow.

She should at least pay attention.. Studying and learning aren't the same thing. Paying attention to someone who's talking to you doesn't equal studying... Like she's in a new world, she needs to learn how they think before going off on her own lazy life. I don't like how the author wrote this chapter but I get where its coming from.
Many thanks

Getting a theory stuffed into your mouth and being told to spit it out and then immediately told to remember the taste while another one is stuffed into your mouth is not practical for UNDERSTANDING the theory. Having a theory and then applying it and running through it yourself is far better for actually memorizing and understanding the theory.

Thanks for the update! Now I can't wait for the next chapter.

@Claresilver47 Totally agree. I memorized a lot of theory in school but a lot of it didn't really click for me until I got my first job out of college and actually had to apply it.

i agree with her, just getting theory shoved down your throat sucks. when you actually apply it is also when you FINALLY understand it, imo. good luck jeanie!!!

thank you very much for the update~

Lol, she definitely feels like the type to skip chapters in books cause they are too boring XD
I wonder if her skipping all the formalities and summoning a spirit is going to go well?
Like is this one of those stories where the main character turns out to be an unparalleled genius, or one where she has to work hard to see results?
I'm predicting the former haha... And that her teacher is gonna cry when she just easily summons something crazy!

I taught myself to read due to a need to be able to read magazines about video games
I suck at writing because beyond just getting my idea across, what is the point of perfect grammar when it will never pay me to have it?

I taught myself high school level math because dammit I needed to min max an rpg harder than it was ever min maxed before.
My second grade teacher saw my use of algebra as a slight on her ability to teach and actively punished me for it.

Science was always interesting on a practical level, and I excelled there, but when will I ever need to know the difference between mitosis and meiosis irl, doesn't help that so many science teachers I had required perfect spelling of their long as hell words so I got an easy A in every practical science thing, and an F in every written no practical science.

Toss out every single bit of english, that has literally taught me nothing beyond what I had to teach myself
Math has more or less been useless passed knowing how to input things and passed being able to do multiplication and division in my head.
history was more or less the exact same thing for 12 years just with less lies each time,
...
god its fun to think of how useless k-12 is and how we have to piss 13 years away doing it

This is stupid, this girl wants to control a power worthy of several hundreds of a knight and can't even bother to try to understand it

teaching me the basics is so boring!

honestly the basics to anything are boring unless you’re discovering them for the first time. the payoff will determine wether or not it’s worth it.

How long until she grows into that ara-ara wonder in the cover art?

The art style is so good I really like it, it's like water-colour-ish and oddly soothing that it gives me a feeling of nostalgia for some reason. The drawing and the atmosphere kinda remind me of Aventura (manga) too.
