For a year now, I am not particularly concerned by the demographic target anymore but more on "if the mangaka is a woman". Also I know a lot of shojo that are really mid, so it kinda broke my habit to defend shojo first...

As far as I know, shoujo is mostly created by female authors. It’s kind of weird to think about a man writing shoujo, although I don’t think it’s impossible

The target audience must be young women, but that doesn’t mean other audiences can’t read it, too
