The thing about bestiality is that it is mostly one sided from the woman, because you know, you can't talk to animal. First time I see one with romance, seriously. Like actual shoujo romance. It is pretty hot.

Would this even count as bestiality? The snake is more person than animal. This is kinda like when someone bangs an alien in a sci fi story, or a youkai or monster girl/boy in other fantasy manga. So yes, a different species, but does it count as bestiality if both are people like here?

You're right, it's not bestiality and idk why everyone thinks it's so.

1. The snake can talk and has the same mental capacity as a full grown human (she even thinks he acts like an old man)
2. The snake is clearly a god, or a creature on some higher level of some sort, seeing as how EVERY ANIMAL IN THE FOREST came to watch him hibernate.
3. He's not the size of a normal snake, even the biggest snakes on earth don't reach his size. I get it's be weird if he was normal sized but he's not.

By all accounts he's a human in a snake body. Sure I guess one can think it's weird he once was a normal snake, but he's been a not normal snake for 500 years, to the point where theres a whole festival about his existence which certainly didn't come into existence recently!

I mean it kinda depends on the definition of bestiality that you use.

The most common definition is simply a person (human) having sex, or preforming sex acts with an animal (non- human). From my really quick google search this definition is the most common and Intelligence isn't really factored into this definition. So inspite of Daija being a unnormal snake or a god it still counts as bestiality because he is, of course, a snake.

Now the meriam webster dictionary defines bestiality as "sex between a person and a lower animal" with this definition Daija and Miyo getting down and dirty doesn't count as bestiality because Daija is in now way lower, even though he is a snake( non- human animal).

personally i believe, while morally okay, its still bestiality simply because there isn't a better word to describe this type of relationship (human - equally intelligent non- human) and it is literally a woman having lovey dovey baby making sex with a snake then again crossbreeding donkeys and horses together doesn't have a specific name so i guess the former case really doesn't need one either.

P.S. Daija has mentioned once that although he is long lived, he really is just a snake, not a god. The scene with the animals seeing him off for the winter lends credence to him simply being an "unreliable narrator" but Daija himself claims he's just a snake.

Yes, he says he's a snake, but clearly he is not, which is what I was getting at. If we're using real world logic to apply beastiality to him, then he isn't a snake. No snake acts like him, wild animals don't act like that around any creature unless being controlled by some instinctual force (maybe humans but only if they're used to them and receiving food)

This is a dumb argument imo. In mythos humans have sex with animal like gods yet you won't see historians, or those who research and study these topics described it as beastiality. There are people who call it monster/mythological/fantasy creature sex. Even if there wasn't a better word for it, you don't have to call beastiality unless you want to

An animal not acting like its species typically acts doesn't make it not that animal. Humans aren't known to be cannibalistic, but when we find tribes of cannibalistic humans they're still considered human. There is a documented instance of a lioness "adopting" baby antelopes ( really tragic story honestly ). This is incredibly out of the ordinary but that doesn't make the lioness an antelope in disguise. the lioness is still a lioness

Think of Daija like Jormungandr. inspite of him being way bigger, more intelligent, and magical, Daija is still a snake ( even if possibly divine), Diphallia and all.

Granted I do not want to do too deep a dive into the topic of zoophilia/ bestiality and stumble across something horrific or end up on a list (probably too late now that i consider it), i was able to find a few examples of bestiality in greek myth being describled as such, most reputable being Assistant professor at Cornell Annetta Alexandridis' "Divine or monstrous love". (googled "bestiality in greek myth") and i haven't been able to find anything/anyone disqualifying the many cases of animal on human sex in myth from bestiality.

P.S. searching monster/ mythological/ fantasy creature sex gets you a lot of off topics (actually on topic results) results no matter how much context you try to add. Can't tell if i've been pranked or not.
