I'm the author of the "mess".

The previous translator (Amarrez) used "crush" for Oshi, so I kept it, but I'm not too fond of it either because it implies, at this point, when she knows "onii-san"'s gender, something not intended (a romantic crush).

At the same time, there's not really a word for Oshi in English, except maybe "fave", which is mid, so whatever.
