after reading the comments, i was fully expecting to go into this and absolutely trash on it for being a generic copy & paste 'i was god/king/saint but came to the modern world!' but it's not really like that.

it's actually pretty damn funny. I'd say that it's way more comedy/gags rather than action. And even with the action scenes, it never really takes itself too seriously to the point of being cringe. Don't get me wrong, the action scenes are enjoyable but you'll be sorely disappointed if you come into this story expecting the 'becoming stronger' aspect to be the entire focus of the story with long, well-detailed fight scenes.

I think that's where so many stories like this get it wrong. I don't want to read a story where the whole plot is glazing the main character's meat and doing tricks on it, that just never works for me.

Also, the plot is chef's kiss 🤌

I think it's really enjoyable. I won't go into spoilers because obviously, but I'll just say that it set up the story quick and easy, not hard to understand, yet it has the potential to be way more than what it started as. The initial plot is simple enough to enjoy even if it doesn't ever really become more, mostly due to the humor and comedy. Though I'll just say that it IS becoming more.

The pacing is also fantastic, dare I say, one of the real highlights of the story to me. For all of the random events and gags that appear, it doesn't feel rushed or too slow. We get the comedy, the action, the emotional moments all put together in a way that doesn't leave me bored for even a single moment. I think I caught up to ch58 in one sitting.

I'd say... If you aren't into a comedic tone or are expecting a more intense or dramatic story, you shouldn't read this one. 7/10, good for what it is.

It’s about a 5-6/10. Maybe 7. There is nothing really interesting about it. It has the usual racism against certain cultures/people. The writing is more daily life than drama or action. And someone is incapable of accurately writing/translating the correct numbers for things. On the higher end of trash, but still very much trash. And it’s very much so a fantasy story about wish fulfillment. The MC is basically indestructible. The writer tries to convey weakness in them but it never truly takes hold. Lots of “I win because I know a better move I had hidden, teehee.”
