As much as I want to ignore the clearly multiple love interests here because the rest of the story is good, I really think I'll be dropping this here, at least for the moment.
I just really don't like it when an author juggles with 2 love interests all while being unsure if the main character would even choose either one of them. It's even worse if it turns out to be a harem. This kind of indecision is not something I enjoy reading. Idk, being indecisive in this aspect just feels very...cowardly? Unmanly? Lacking a spine? Can't make a resolve? Idk how else to call it, but it really doesn't fit the "main character" vibe, especially if they're portrayed as not being egoistic in the first place.
Like, if the main character was made out to be stoic and nonchalant while the story's narrative focuses on exploiting multiple love interests, it makes the MC seem very...hypocritical. It just feels very out of place, not true to the MC's character and personality. It feels so insincere, like jamming in a puzzle piece from a totally different puzzle set. But that's just me.
I'm sure this is just because it's not my preference.
