This is much better. The other version was forlorn, in my opinion, because the chuckling in that always seemed sad and self-deriding in my eyes. As if Shizuko was laughing at herself for ending up in such a miserable state, plus feeling bad about the much younger guy now looking after her, as if she didn't deserve it.
