She seems to already despise him, and it looks like even the other girl knows this, so even within the story nobody is under the impression that there's love lost here. I would expect the MC to tell the other chick "no girl you're going to die, get out of here."

I'm honestly a little surprised by some of these comments. Everyone is going after the OFL, which normally in the steals the fiancé cliché makes since. In this one isn't it a good thing, it helped FL break off her engagement so its a win.
