That was a half chapter? Huh, felt like a full one.

Thanks for the scanlation!
Worse, it was 20 percent of a chapter. There was 4.1 to 4.4 to precede it.

I really think Japanese creators need to stop this 'partial chapter nonsense' and just call each of their releases a chapter. The partial chapter thing has gotten out of hand..

I believe this is the fifteenth partial chapter release of this series. To my mind, it would be better for them to just call this 'chapter 15' instead of 'chapter 4.5'.

Lower prices than the other farmers? She's about to put the working man out of business lol
The working man has some questions to anwser, since an entire population is literally starving. Either there's some ungodly amount of price gouging going on (and we're talking about simple produce) or there's not enough food production in the first place.

Going by her opening times, her shop's open 2 hours a day, 5 days a week, making far less hours and pay on part-time than normal, but I don't know how shops/markets usually do business in prehistoric settings. Even at those hours, though, she'll likely get sold out every time she opens, so any produce that the people didn't get the chance to get can either wait or go to another stall for what they need.

Idk, unless the other workers in the industry are scummy bitches, it should be a pretty balanced work environment that's to Alm's comfort.

Man, a bit of a silly development but nice all the same. This manga keeps giving this old school feel to me that I've missed. Thank you for another slice!

Well, that's a good question. There are numerous reasons for why the crops wouldn't grow as well as everyone's hoping and being the reason why general populace is starving, might be just outdated farming methods and tools to blame.

Inadaquate tools and techniques are only that when compared to something superior - whatever they are using you'd expect to be sufficient to provide for the majority of the population, because the population itself would grow only to a certain point around that.

Even if they are in the middle of a famine due to failed harvests or an unexpected people influx (like war refugees), there seems to be something very wrong with that country. This kind of thing should be on the authorities mind, especially those princes that claim wanting to change the country for everyone's benefit...

In any case, the girl's shop should not put anyone out of business, though it might lighten some purses if it is some kind of scheme to corner the market.

"stop thoughtlessly handing out things for free" bleh not really interested in this manga anymore because of all the political messaging
this kinda mutual aid actually works irl, just handing out things for free actually is a good thing to do
that's what food banks are, for instance. those are good things!
(yeah, the message "don't let people take advantage of you" is a good message, but not like this - you should help people with no expectation of return. that's a good thing to do, that's not being taken advantage of. that's a normal thing to do; if someone falls in the street you aren't going to ask money to help them up, right?)

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm not a fan of partial chapters in any shape or form. I do think however, that it's the publishers doing not the mangaka. I think the author provides them with full chapters and they split it as none of the parts have any markers or anything to show that they have been created in parts like that. It allows the publisher to profit more as you pay a little less for a part, but more often. If we were to wait for a full chapter to release (30 page normal) then it would take 8-10 weeks and I think people would be just as equally annoyed by this, I know I would.

Victim blaming? Smooth move author.
It's kind of her fault, She giving something for free so people happy, But reality doesn't work like this too, (well not the kind where you see someone fall and you helped them) it's more like giving like spoiling a brat that shout and smash thing if they doesn't get what they want, Alm is like the parent you see, She give, But the people like a spoiled brat just keep wanting since they think that they can just throw tantrum, In the end the Child become more Out of control while the parents are dying, And who's fault is this if you tell this in real life? Yeah the parent, Cause they can't educate, or in this case Control her and the People properly, Alm like this

I'd say this akin to doing a lot of charity, yet expecting a thank you at the end of it. It's not wrong, but depending on the person, it can create some level of resentment, even at a subconscious level. It's not wrong to expect a thank you, but the sake of the story, that tiny bit of resentment has "tainted" her physical manifestation of goodwill food. She shouldn't have to expect anything in return AND not let herself to be exploited. Goddess gives a nice middle ground for her. Getting a "thank you" should be considered a bonus to the action.
