Was that a bed in the last panel?
Did somebody say that It hurt?
The masses are going to misunderstand.

Ok I really dislike these types of characters, the ones that exist just for the sake of being foils to the MC. We all know that the MC is "playing" at being lazy and wants his brother to be emperor, we didn't need the "tsundere childhood friend" that ignores everything the MC says and just does whatever to the detriment of the MC to act as the literal roadblock to the story for no reason. If she was villainous or antagonistic to the MC, it would at least make sense to the story but nope: she's literally just a tsundere which is just a boring character.

I sincerely hope she changes to an actual character soon, or dies, or isn't in the story anymore in her current cookie cutter form. I was actually starting to like some of the behind the scenes shenanigans the MC was doing but tsundere's ruin every story they're in. God this is frustrating.

@Massmada265 She's not a detriment; in fact, she's probably his greatest ally... look, here is what happened... he gets bullied, she protects him... he becomes lazy, she makes him work...

And they don't ruin everything they're in... they often improve it...

And frankly, can you blame her for being protective of a guy pretending to be weak??? He's the one that's supposed to be in the most danger, and if he's honest with her, she'd know how powerful he is...

And you think that one of the strongest people in the world would be a demerit on his side???

And frankly, she's close enough for him to do this and not be overboard.

It's like your mom kicking you out of the house cause you're being too lazy...

And please note that even the people that know his secret don't think that he's being wronged, but instead view him as being troublesome...

There's more to her character than this, she's essentially a noble night and all that entails, obviously she's a tsundere, but
Like the emperor and arnold's mother, and to a extent leo
she wants arnold to stop belittling himself and become emperor as she thinks he's the most capable of leading the country among the candidates ever since they were young.

@Cernunnos
As far as i got in the LN it was
just her and finne, no other girls after him.

@deathmailrock the issue is that his goals right now are to be stealthy and help his brother, and her openly helping him is making that really difficult. it's like if you're trying to be a spy but your celebrity friend is butting into things and dragging you into the paparazzi. Hell you could just be normal and your friend is a celebrity but keeps publicly being around you. it would be another thing if she was just hanging around the MC at his house or something, but nope, she is PUBLICLY ENDORSING him, making him literally public enemy #1 when he wants to fly under everyone's radar. He has said multiple times that he doesn't want to be emperor, so the actions taken by the token tsundere are antagonistic to the MC by definition.

@Tatsuya-Kai I have no issues with the character herself wanting more from the MC, but that's what SHE wants HIM to be, not what HE wants for HIMSELF. I get it, and it's not malicious which makes it annoying, but almost every story has the side characters want the MC to be or to do something with (often) little care for what the MC wants. It just gets really boring, especially when the MC in this story has the means to achieve his goal: get his brother to be emperor. I just wish these stories stop having the side characters tell the MC what to do. It's cool if the characters help guide a lost MC back to the original goal if the MC got off track, but the MC's goal from the very beginning was to make his brother emperor, and the token tsundere is literally derailing the plan knowing that the MC does NOT want to be emperor.

I get that it's a trope at this point and it's "just an isekai" so I'm not expecting the highest quality literature, but having some variety where the MC actually has some agency and isn't just the punching bag for the side characters. Because now, if he decides to later on become emperor, it won't be his decision, it would be the token tsundere's decision for him (along with any other character that pushes him towards it).

Like c'mon, the whole damn story is about the MC wanting his brother to be the emperor, and a new character gets introduced that immediately and completely IGNORES the MC's clear wishes and pushes the MC away from his goal, and you guys just accept her, whiles she is being literally a pseudo-villain character by going against what the MC wants, because "tsundere"?

I know weebs like eyecandy but I also like good stories with good, balanced characters that contribute to the story.

I get I'm being hyper critical of an isekai manga, but I seriously had my expectations and hopes shattered by stupid shit like this from the author. If he wanted to write a story about the MC becoming the emperor, don't make the first 8 chapters all about how he wants his BROTHER to be emperor and how he DOESN'T want to be emperor.

EDIT: If you want to see an example of a MC being literally pushed around by the side characters whishes, read the Kings Dark Tidings books as the MC, Rezkin, literally has most of his life decisions made by other people. But the story frames this in a way of how horrible and tragic the MC is as he has never made his own decision before, and him as a character slowly learning how to make his own choices, while also respecting and valuing the opinions of his friends, is a main theme in the books. Here (and in other stories), the side character bullying is literally glorified and encouraged and comedic. An excerpt from the wiki about Rezkin's personality:

"Rezkin is a trained sociopath" "He is completely dedicated to the Rules resulting in him having an emotionless exterior, often seen when killing people or any manner of living beings where he admits he feels nothing for theirs deaths much to the distress and horror of his friends and acquaintances"
