She isn't actually doing anything wrong. He's hiding something from her, and frankly, he's not being secretive solely because he needs to be... a huge part of it is laziness... hell, he wants his brother to be emperor because he doesn't want the trouble of doing it.

And anyways, she's still one of the strongest people in the world, but because she has to be neutral, she can help guard the weak poster girl of the group without much trouble.

In a situation where their group needs power, just everyone knowing she's close with them is an advantage they NEED...

Woah, seems like there's a lot of people dissing this? I find it quite good actually and also.. All I can say, the title of the manga aside... Unless something drastic happens like his mom and brother get killed.. I don't see him fighting for the throne for himself, I can also say that his brother Leo, definitely sees the MC the same way the MC sees Leo. Leo seems like he definitely doesn't want to become Emperor and instead wants the MC to be the Emperor...


Also, I think it would be hell of a twist if Leo was actually a "villain" and he was the one that killed the Crown Prince, like maybe that shady maid is in it with Leo as well... I think the maid is definitely loyal to Leo though lol

There is a difference between me and Kanye West hanging out at my house or going on vacation with me, and Kanye West publicly endorsing me as a musician. We could've been best friends growing up, but there is a clear difference between private and public. Famous have non-famous people as friends and family, and they can all somehow avoid publicly endorsing them just because "they are so close". There was a literal competition which influenced the inheritance and she decided to PUBLICLY endorse and support the ONE candidate that DIDN'T want it without talking to the MC at ALL about the decision beforehand.

The problem is that the MC has PUBLICLY shown he has NO interest in the throne. As far as the token tsundere is aware, he literally doesn't want it. Look at the MC and his brother: MC wants his brother to be emperor, and his brother wants to be emperor. Their goals align and I GUARANTEE that if the MC's brother didn't want to be emperor, the MC would not be supporting him and would instead help his brother achieve his goal. Part of it is laziness, but the bigger part is that the MC believes the best emperor candidate is his brother out of the siblings remaining. If the MC truly was JUST doing it to be lazy, he wouldn't care who was emperor as long as it wasn't him. But instead the MC wants his twin to be emperor because he believes he is the best candidate for it.

The tsundere does not care about the MC's wants, and instead superimposes her own desires onto the MC. Even if the MC wasn't doing anything to secretly help his brother and truly was just a lazy person and didn't want it, as a friend she should NOT be forcing what she wants onto him, especially for such an immense life decision. She forces her own will upon others, physically and verbally, does not communicate with her "friend", knowingly does things she KNOWS her "friend" does not want and does not treat her "friend" with respect. She is not acting like a friend, this isn't "tough love", she is literally just bullying the MC and she doesn't get a pass because the author said she's the token tsundere character.

Tbh my dislike for her and characters like her stems from oppressive siblings that basically bullied me under the guise of "tough love" and "only wanting what's best" while stomping out any actual desires I had, basically what the token tsundere is doing here. I never asked for anything growing up because my older siblings stomped it out of me, verbally and physically, and it's been a huge detriment to my personality where I basically never shared any of my wishes with anyone and accepted everyone else's desires as my own. It took a long time to break free of that, so whenever I see those same actions being taken by a character that's supposed to be likeable or "good", it's just telling me that the hardships I faced were my fault. It's almost identical, except here we can basically assume that she really is doing horrible things with good intentions because the author clearly is writing her to be the fap bait side character and not a villain.

Elna was saved by Al when they were children and Al got imprisoned for it. That also was the time where their father the Emperor took notice of Al and had expectation. After that Elna swore an oath to the Emperor that she will be Al's blade and protect him no matter what happened. That means her first priority is Al rather than the Emperor.

@Massmada265 1st what immense life decision is she even forcing on him??? Nobody would think that he's trying to become Emperor or anything like that. She's just trying to bring him honor by giving him a victory and making him do some hard work...

That's it... and he's going to be in public anyways. And remember, the prince himself is like a huge celebrity himself, so he'd have paparazzi anyways. He's already famous and big... so your entire point of her making him public is moot.

2nd, he has to join this anyways. This situation is closer to forcing your childhood friend into doing homework and getting a job rather than anything else. Everyone knows she's pretty much the strongest in the Empire and they all know that she and him are close.

So the super famous person who everyone knows always hangs out with the strongest person won a game he's forced to play by law. And he won because he has the strongest person on his team... someone who is always with him.

If anything, the only plans she'd ruin are the ones he keeps secret, and that is solely because he keeps them secret.

Imagine, if your younger sibling had super powers that they kept hidden from you and their plan was to have a criminal shoot them... would you say your mom was wrong for protecting him when she didn't know about his powers nor his plan???

Or maybe some dude choosing to drive a dangerous object instead of letting Barry Allen run with it but he doesn't know that Barry is the Flash... can you really blame the guy for not letting what he thinks is a normal human run with something dangerous?

Any issue that happens is solely because of the secrets he keeps and not because of her being meddlesome. In fact, it'd be weirder if she didn't try to protect him.

He's pretending to be weak, so she treats him like he's weak. Why is she in the wrong for that? That's the natural consequence for HIS actions.

Besides, what he really needs is allies and having one of the most influential and most powerful people on his side is useful. The only problem he has is that he'd rather she helped his brother rather than him. But even if she's not doing what's absolutely best for his plan, she's still doing good for him.

well, she seems to be much more enjoyable than the FMC and I don't mind her personality at all. Plus, the artist actually put efforts on her character design, not like that FMC where I want to vomit everytime I see her on a panel.
